Tackling Trauma

PRofessional Learning Seminar
For Teachers:

Discussions around consent and the introduction of better consent education will naturally lead to more young people realising they’ve had experiences of non-consensual sex.

This seminar will give teachers the confidence to navigate disclosures of sexual harm and instances where students may become triggered in a trauma-informed manner, helping you better support your students and make them feel safe.

What will you learn?

  • Understand sexual harm and how students can have negative experiences disclosing it

  • Understand why and how to give content warnings

  • Learn strategies for responding to disclosures of sexual harm between students in a trauma-informed way

  • Understand the importance of taking a more restorative approach with student perpetrators and learn how to go about this

Details:

This seminar is designed for teachers from any Learning Area working in Victorian secondary schools, as well as school leaders and other school staff.

All of our training is designed by teachers, in consultation with recent high-school graduates, for teachers, school leaders and other school staff. We take an intersectional approach, amplifying the voices of people from groups disproportionately affected by sexual violence.

Pricing depends on seminar duration and number of participants. We recommend at least 90 minutes to cover everything above.

We can deliver this training in person at your school, or online in webinar format. To request a quote, please get in touch and let us know your preferred dates, format, duration and estimated number of participants
